Research Paper
Topic:-The impact of new technology on journalism.
The text of the paper should be typed, double-spaced, in *Times New Roman*,
12-point font. Use pagination. Cite research articles using the format
established by the *American Psychological Association Manual and
Stylebook.* You can observe the use of the basic *APA Stylebook* citation
and paper formats in most of the communication research articles used in
this course. The formats include use of a title page in which you list all
authors as well as the class, instructor and date, an abstract, an
introduction, a literature review, internal in-text citations of
author/dates, hypotheses/research questions, methodology, findings,
discussion and study implications, conclusions, and a bibliography. While
your paper may not include all of these items, it should be constructed
accordingly.
I. Title Page and Running Head (a shortened version of your title, with
page numbers)
II. Abstract
It follows the Title Page. It is a single-spaced, 150-200-word synopsis of
the paper.
III. Introduction
IV. Review of relevant literature—This is a brief overview of supportive
readings. It
includes the main research literature from which the investigator draws
his/her ideas,
approach, etc.
V. Key research hypotheses and research questions posed by the investigator
VI. Research methodology— This is a description of the research approach,
which could
be either qualitative or quantitative; a replication of previous research,
using a different
population or data, etc.
VII. Key research findings—This is a recounting of questions that have been
answered as
a result of the analyses; which hypotheses have been supported, or not;
what patterns or
themes have been revealed through the analyses; etc.
VIII. Investigator’s discussion of findings and any alternate
explanations for them.
IX. Discussion of limitations of the study (e.g. sample size, population,
coders/coding,
the exploratory nature of the research)
X. Conclusions and any implications for future research in this area
XI. Formats for research bibliographic citations—
Citations
are in alphabetical order,
double-spaced, and indented as indicated below. Here are examples of
