Below are the instructions for completing your final blog/website project, which simply flips your Profile essay into a website. That's called visual rhetoric. KEEP IT SIMPLE! 1. Open a FREE account at wix.com 2. Choose either Blog or website and ANY TEMPLATE that works for you. You'll have to go through and answer some questions before you get to those choices. Just keep skipping though all of those questions--none of that matters. 3. Copy and paste your ENITRE PROFILE ESSAY (in same order) into your template. Don't forget your TITLE and your WORKS CITED. 4. Break profile into 1-3 paragraph sections. Write in a SECTION HEADING to each section. 5. If you have any lists of terms or numbers, put all lists and/or statistical info in bullet points. You might not have any such thing. If not, this doesn't apply. Here's an example. In your paper: The major characteristics of whatever are this, that, that, and the other. On your website: The major characteristics of whatever are *this, *that, *that, and *the other. You'd do the same with any type of list--whether it be words or numbers. 6. Add in FIVE meaningful graphics/images; cite any graphics/images that aren’t public domain. USE free WIX images to avoid having to cite image source! 7. Double-check to be sure you included your WORKS CITED! That's what proves you're not making all of this up. ;) Here’s the rubric from Canvas: Appropriate Design Strategy (5 design principles applied) 60 pts Online conventions: Use exact profile and break into 1-3 paragraph sections, Add meaningful section headings, put all lists & statistical info in bulletpoints, ease of use 60 pts Graphics: At least 5 meaningful graphics/images: CITE ALL Images beneath image or add image source to works cited 50 pts Works Cited 30 pts Total Points: 200 Here are two sample sites.
