Leader Identification
First, review Profiles in Business Ethics: Community Thought Leaders (Appendix
B of Business Ethics). Choose one of the contemporary thought leaders from
the list (or another high profile leader of your choosing) who exemplifies
ethical leadership and whom you would like to research for your final
project. Make sure the ethical business leader you select is high profile
enough that you will be able to locate several online sources to support
your work in Part 2 of the final project. Then, Review Chapter 13, Section
8: Ethical Leadership in the Community Tool Box resource. According to this
resource, “Ethical behavior reflects a value system that grows out of a
coherent view of the world, based on equity, justice, the needs and rights
of others as well as oneself, a sense of obligation to others and to the
society, and the legitimate needs and standards of the society.”
In a 250- to 300-word essay (1 page), describe your selected leader and
what drew you to this leader. From your initial research, how has this
leader exhibited ethical behavior? In your essay, be sure to describe the
components of ethical leadership. Explain an example of your selected
leader’s ethical behavior that aligns with one or more of the components of
ethical leadership.
