Write a 4-6 page paper on a recent (with the last year) environmental disaster. This paper should be divided into 3 sections. Topic for Project 2 is due on Week 5. Rubric for Topic for Project 2: Topic is on an Environmental Disaster.Please do not use a topic previously discussed in our course, either through text, discussions or lectures.Also, Topic for Project 2 may NOT be on a Natural Disaster, such as Wildfires, Storms, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Floods, Tsunamis, etc.. Section 1: (~2 pages) Provide background information, a detailed account of the events, and any measures used to mitigate the problem. Please only use FACTS section 1. Section 2: (2-3+ pages) Provide your assessment of how the problem may have been prevented and perhaps, better managed. Support your opinion using environmental concepts from this class. Section 3: References. Provide APA references for Sections 1 and 2. Examples of recent environmental problems in the US, are: Toxic fumes in Chatsworth, California; Water contamination in Flint, Michigan; Water issue in Watts, California; Mineral (heavy metal) mine spill into the Colorado River.
